The 2010 edition of
Camp Sunshine Arkansas will be its second year utilizing the facilities of
Camp Aldersgate in Little Rock.
About the Facilities
Camp Aldersgate consists of 120 acres tucked inside the city limits of Little
Rock, the state's largest city. The wooded property includes a six-acre lake
for canoeing and fishing, seven modern cabins, a swiming pool facility and
the 12,000 square foot Commons Center, which becomes the center of activity
for Camp Sunshine.
We have 120 acres boasting wooded hills, a six-acre lake, cabins, two zipline
adventure courses dedicated to our programs and program rentals, a fully
accessible treehouse, an archery pavilion, two pools and paved trails - a
beautiful oasis in the heart of the state's largest city. Camp Aldersgate
was awarded a $7 million grant from the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation for
the construction and furnishing of seven cabins, a health care center and
a swimming pool facility. The construction was completed in 2008.
is a special program each August designed for youth burn survivors to share
feelings, good times, laughter & friends. Burn survivors have special
needs met best by other burn patients, firefighters and health care providers.
Camp Sunshine is FREE as the camp is sponsored by the Arkansas Professional
Fire Fighters Association.
Thank you for viewing this site. As it exists at the moment, it is only a
basic design shell used to test appearance and performance of the design
on various web browers. This means we are one step closer to launching the
site and increasing public awareness of Camp Sunshine. Check back often to
monitor progress.
